This course is expected to have significant impacts on the future of conservation efforts not only because conservation efforts in Sudan lag behind those in neighboring countries (e.g. Kenya), but also because such capacity-building programs are very rare in the country due to lack of facilities, funding, and governmental support.  Contingent upon availability of funding, we will offer places to 25 - 30 participants annually in the area of Biodiversity and Ecological Assessment & Monitoring (BEAM), including its importance, development, methods, data collection and analysis, and reporting and dissemination of the outcomes to environmental policy makers, planners and the general public.
